ReferralsMany of my colleagues and other professionals in social service or clergy roles find themselves feeling lost when confronted by someone who is struggling in their midst. You often wonder if you’re reading the warning signs the right way, if your counsel is having an impact, and when and how to introduce further help. After years of working in the social services arena, I know firsthand that answers to these questions do not come easy. In fact, it is for that very reason that I have built lasting relationships with guidance counselors, social workers and ministers, acting as an objective resource to advise them.
WHAT CAN YOU EXPECT IF YOU REFER SOMEONE TO ME? First, I adhere to the confidentiality of my clients. You can rest-assured that I will take the utmost care in helping them confidentially. If for some reason, I am not the best person to help, I will work with you to find the right resources to help the person. The clinical work I do with clients is pragmatic and solution-focused, often blending cognitive-behavioral therapy, psychodynamics, and family systems work with lots of attention to self-care. You can feel confident in referring a wide variety of clients to me — children, adolescents, adults and elders. I have specialized in training in couples and family therapy, and especially enjoy helping families with intergenerational challenges. Further, I have deep experience on a wide range of issues — anxiety, depression, relationships, eating disorders, trauma, addition, living with chronic illness and loss/life transition. I would welcome the opportunity to meet with you and your team so you can get to know me better and have confidence in making referrals to me. |
